Dinner with friends

Fancy dinner plates. A makeshift tablecloth. New flatware I brought home from the US. Pizza. Red wine. Friends.

Saturday night went something like that.

All these years of renovations and decorating and wanting to create the perfect home for us with "that gorgeous sofa" and filled with more stuff to look at.... in the end what I wish for more than anything is for the memories to continue to be created here in this old house.

I'm another year older today. I want time to slow down but I also want it to continue at the speed it is so I can have more moments such as these. Filled with food.

Hope you had a good weekend x

  7. Thanks Michelle. Over the last year or so I've thought less about the home itself. Is that bad to say, given I write about my home?? Never mind, before I know it I'll be talking bathrooms again.

  12. happiest of birthdays to you!!! and thanks so much for writing this post - my husband and I are in the midst of the renovating, and I needed the reminder that it's about the *memories* and the making of them more than what the home they happen in looks like
