Shop Tour: Visiting The Grounds of Alexandria

If you are in Sydney, no doubt by now you might have heard of The Grounds? It is a fabulous coffee roasting house, restaurant and bakery within a heritage warehouse building that used to be an old pie factory and boasts a large garden area.

I have visited a couple of times now and I can literally spend the afternoon lazing away in the gardens, watching Robbie play and checking out the resident chickens. And the place is always busy! They hold markets on the last Saturday of every month as well as roasting classes and gardening classes for kids.
See more photos after the jump...

The interior and garden design of The Grounds is beautiful (you can see photos on their website) but what I wanted to share with you today is the beauty in the detail that the space offers - from brass wall lighting fixtures on the brick walls, to fresh produce, old little wooden carts filled with plants and a simple menu written on chalkboard.
It is these small details that catch my eye when I visit new place and what I believe turns a well designed space into something extra special. Have you visited The Grounds?
