Working with various paint finishes

It has been a busy week full of ideas. There is a lot that has been happening and I can't wait to share with you when the ideas become a little something more. In the meantime I wanted to show you some of the different wood finishes I have been playing with for various projects I am working on. Perhaps they'll inspire you to grab a paint brush and give one of these a try? They are easy to work with!

The finishes are from the Porter's Paints specialty range. My favourites include the ones shown here - palm beach black (one coat for a subtle finish and two coats for a glossier finish), wood wash for a whitewashed look to timber and liquid copper combined with green patina to achieve the look of copper that has aged over time. The results are lovely. What is great about working with these finishes, in particular the wood wash and palm beach black is that you can add more coats for a richer effect or a lighter coat for a subtle finish.
The samples in the photo above shows the liquid copper as it looks before it has had the patina added to it (bottom sample) and the middle sample is what the liquid copper looks like with the patina freshly added to it. The patina ages over time if not sealed. I would love to use this finish in project one day.

Which is your favourite?
