New colourful rug for the living room

After months (years?) of searching we have a new rug for the living room! Karavan in Newport sell beautiful handmade wool rugs from Afghanistan and they were having a sale which was just a bonus.

We chose this rug because the colours were softer and blend in nicely with the existing furnishings. The owners of the store explained that the pattern of the rug is inspired by a traditional apron design and each rug is unique using organic dyes to create colourful stripes with, in this particular rug, light coloured wool threaded through each stripe to soften the colours.
Photos simply don't do it justice.

  3. Love how it suits the aboriginal artwork too and you're open to adapting the main accent colours in the room by sticking to the colours in the rug x

  10. Gorgeous rug. It's stunning. I love the more muted tones compared with the more traditional bright ones.
