Hanging wallpaper

I can cross one project off the list - hang wallpaper in the study. I worked on it over the weekend. I started at 8pm after Robert had gone to sleep and finished it at 1am. 5 hours.

Although I think I could have finished it earlier if I hadn't been distracted by the contents of the refrigerator.

This room also stores a lot of Robert's toys and there is this bookcase on the other side of the room. I have a few ideas for this space which I will keep you updated on as it is by no means finished.

What do you think of the pattern? I was a little nervous at first but I'm really happy it and in the mornings, the sun catches the gold outlines of the flowers and really brings it to life. I wish I could capture it in photos to show you.

Would you be interested in a little step-by-step of the hanging process?

P.S. If you would like to see a before photo of the room please see here.

  8. I love it! where do you buy your wallpaper? I live in New York and have no clue where to buy chic and modern wallpaper, can you help with that? I'd love a post on the step-by-step hanging process!

  12. I absolutely love it! I have been thinking about doing something similar in the new apartment we will be moving into. The landlords had a HORRIBLE mural painted on the walls and we got them to agree to wallpaper over it so they could one day take down the wallpaper if we moved out! I cannot take blood red walls behind my bed or in front of my desk! Yikes!

  13. The pattern is wonderful! I'd love for you to share your application technique - it looks seamless and perfect! It would take me ages longer to complete.

  14. Gorgeous, how inspiring that you did it yourself! I would LOVE to see a step-by-step. I am a little scared that I would mess it up if I tried to hang wallpaper myself. Is it easy to get the seams... um, seamless I guess is the word I'm looking for??

  26. I love it! I love the wallpaper and how you did it just as one wall so it's not overwhelming the entire room. And I love your chandelier in the office. ;-)

  27. Hi Viv did you do that all by yourself? Just curious as the two times I have done it, I have had either my husby or my sister help(or maybe it was me helping them!!!) Looks fab by the way x

  29. Sarah J. - I bought the paper from ebay. The seller is called decorsupplies (Australian ebay).

littlebetty - it is by Harlequin called Passion.

julie - you make me laugh! Can I borrow that phrase from time to time? Love it. Getting the seams to match is the hardest part. I think I could have done a better job of that to be honest.

Anonymous - the desk was given to me.

toni - I did hang it all by myself. Having an extra pair of hands would have been really helpful!

  30. Hi, love your wallpaper!!!!
is there an online site where i can buy pretty wallpapers that deliver overseas?

  31. Hi!

    Thanks!
i found the ebay seller for the wallpaper.
    They come in 10.05m x 0.52m.
Just wondering how many rolls did you have to use for your wall?
    Have a good day!
