And in time for the party too. I'm so happy with the way the chair turned out. I'll post some progress shots separately with the paint products used. It was so simple to do!
I decided on the Nest Nursery sheet set. I couldn't resist the elephants.
That's a Cariboo bassinet in the corner. It will probably end up in the master bedroom so we don't have to walk too far to tend to the screaming baby.
The change table above the chest of drawers is removable so we can reuse the drawers when the baby grows up.

The Etsy prints are finally framed and hanging.
Overall I'm pretty proud of the way the room turned out. The best feeling is watching kids play in the room and give it the 'thumbs up'. I can't wait for the little one to arrive.

this is fantastically simple, well put together and so personalised for your little one!
ReplyDeletejust a thought, might be a good idea to get a back bolster cushion thing for that settee if you intend on breastfeeding on it!
husband went out 1 week after i delivered and came back with a nursing rocking chair, which lasted only 2 weeks... (found it too small) and then i bought a large armchair on ebay... which lasted maybe 2 months and then i finally settled for my spacious two-seater lounge :P needed to be able to spread my arms and perhaps read a magazine while feeding hannah! :)
I love it so much. You need to be an interior designer Viv. ♥
ReplyDeleteWow, it's glorious, and what a fantstic room for a little one. But suitable for mum too. :)
ReplyDeleteI just saw your room on AT, and OH MY GOD, it is sooooo beautiful. Any baby that starts life in a room that breath taking is destined for great things!!!Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on AT as well and I'd love to know where you got the wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteThank you and welcome!
ReplyDeleteallyson: The wallpaper is by Catherine Martin. It's called Circus Silhouette. If you are located in Australia, Porters Paints stock her paper - www.porterspaints.com.au
This is so beautiful. I'm adding you to my blogroll, I have a little one on the way too (our second one) and am always on the lookout for inspiration!

ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteYour nursery looks great! We've been searching for a similar dresser to use as a changing table, would you mind telling me where you got yours?
Anon - Not a problem. The dresser is from Snooze :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful nursery! Would you mind letting me know where you picked up the blue hanging piece I can see in the corner of the top photo? Many thanks!
ReplyDeletetiny & little - welcome!
ReplyDeleteThe blue hanging piece is actually a pom pom I made for my son's baby shower.
Here are instructions on how to make them:

Viv, thank you very much! Wow, they look easy to put together - amazing, because I thought they were designer. Thank you for the link, I'll be making these for my nursery too.

Viv - how gorgeous. I'm pregant and doing some nursery planning of my own and am so inspired. Can you tell me where you found that great lighting fixture?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - The pendant is from Freedom :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love what you have done! We have similar taste! My little girl has the same sleigh cot, same cariboo cradle though we have the lighter wood version and she also has a collection of etsy prints framed in white! Similar white change table/drawers too. I love how sleek the white and red looks. Beautiful nursery. We went for a rather loud colour scheme, pink white and red with some green. Sounds a bit quirky but it looks great.
ReplyDeletebeautiful!! we would love to feature this on spearmintbaby.com with your permission, along with a link back to ishandchi.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteplease let us know.
