Oobi Love

Oobi Baby have seriously got the most adorable baby clothes on the market.

Check out this gem I've just wacked onto the good 'ol plastic.
Ahhh.. too cute.

Their knit range is equally as adorable.
Check out more here: http://www.oobi.com.au/. Or don't if you want to save a penny.

Bholu or Nest?

I ask all the big questions, don't I?

I'm trying to decide between the Bholu Flying Duck cot sheet set. The design is embroidered.

Or the Nest Nursery Albi the Elephant cot sheet set. The design is screen printed.

Both 100% cotton. Both 100% cute.

Baby shower

So we're having a little party to celebrate the baby's arrival with close family and friends... which ends up being about 80 odd people!

These beauties came today. Another etsy purchase from the seller
Cheerupcherup.

Note: The details on the invites aren't mine.
We've changed the wording a little to say "let's celebrate baby..." instead of "let's shower baby..." because we didn't want people to think they had to bring a gift.

Oh, and males are invited too. We might be able to convince them to come if we tell them there will be minimal baby talk, no baby shower games and alcohol.

October 12th is the date of the party. Gives me a deadline by which to get the nursery room sorted.

Excuse me while I go hyperventilate now...

Nursery progress = slow

Only 7 weeks left to go and a stack of things to do. For now though, I'm going to put my feet up post about all the things I have managed to cross off my nursery 'to do' list. That'll make me feel better...

1. Baby has a place to sleep - just as soon as I buy a mattress and sheets that is:

The cot was a bargain at under $400 (Australian dollars) from ebay. Sure beats paying over $1K for similar designs. Win!

2. A chest of drawers to store all the lovely baby clothes friends and family have bought for us.

3. Installed this pendant light. Love the way it sparkles when the light is on.

Still waiting on the rug to arrive and to decide whether to paint, wallpaper.. hmm...

The room is very light - all whites and creams - which isn't bad I suppose but I do feel it needs a burst of colour.

4. Maybe these etsy prints I bought a week or so ago will help.

The seller's name is ickleson. Beautiful print and wonderful seller to deal with!

This print below should arrive in the mail any day now. It's called Three Little Bears Revisited by sarahjanestudios.

And that's where the room is at for now. Baby steps..

A fun chair for the nursery

My latest little project is having a chair made for the nursery and I'm thinking BRIGHT.

This is the chair:

And I'm thinking of having it covered in this fabric:

Could be fun?

And how lovely is the cushion? It's by etsy seller skinnylaminx. A wonderful seller to deal with. Check out her etsy store for more eye candy. Love love love.

Welcome

It's taken me a little while to set up my own blog but here I finally am.

Why "ish & chi"? I once spotted a photograph of a model out the front of a fish & chips shop. The first letter of the first word and last two letters of the last word were cut out of the picture.. and so we have "ish & chi". How very Australian!

And now I'm craving fish & chips... I should mention I'm 7 months pregnant and craving almost anything these days.

I don't know if it is the nesting instinct kicking in (at least that's what I'll be blaming for the time being) but I've an unhealthy obsession of collecting pretty things for the home and garden. I'll share photos in an attempt to justify my purchases. More to come...
