Mixing patterns
 Robbie has been wanting me to decorate his room lately. Can you tell he lives with an interiors-obsessed mum? So we draped this blue fabric over his bed. I love the mix of patterns of the suzani fabric, the Harvest Textiles hand printed cushions and the Catherine Martin circus wallpaper. I'll sew the edges properly when I get a chance but for now Robbie likes it as is.
I also picked up these two fabric samples from Sparkk. Flamingos! I need a decorating project so that I can make cushions from this fabric for someone special. Is anyone in need of decorating help for a girl's bedroom? ;-)

ReplyDeleteYea to lil ones who want a say in having their room decorated. I see so many kid's rooms in blogland that are decorated to their parent's perfection. While I'm a bit envious of parents who get to do that, I'm also extremely proud to have a 6-yr old son who knows what he likes and wants to decorate his own room... since he was 3. :)
ReplyDeleteI put this fabric on his bed myself the day before and "instagrammed" it. I was thinking it didn't work here but then seeing Robbie's reaction when he did it together - SOLD.
DeleteHe loves getting involved. We talked about swapping his bedroom with the study because it has more light. That could be our next project.
He has a good eye. I see a mom & son design team in the future.
