Planning
We are well into the planning and organising and packing and unpacking and all the other fun stuff that goes into moving into a new home, in this case with my partner moving into our home. I'm not moving! I am using this as an opportunity to also clean out years worth of things that I have hoarded and to also dream up a new plan for our space. Until the budget allows this may stay as a dream, but how gorgeous do these items look together?
I have even found myself googling things like "colour coding a wardrobe" and then realising it just isn't practical. Does anyone colour code their wardrobe? I'm lucky to hang my clothes let alone find the right "spot" for them although I can see the attraction when it comes to choosing an outfit in a hurry.

:) I colour code my closet, all my clothes hang left to right white, colour to grey then black, and by sleeve length with solids first then prints.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit OCD in the organization of my closet, my sweaters are even stacked by colour.
It makes it much easier to find items and pull complete outfits together.

Wow Callie - I'm amazed! I can definitely see how it can help in pulling outfits together. 90% of the time I'm a "this is clean so it will do today" kind of person. Actually, just as I typed this my partner pulled out the drawers and found clothes at the bottom of the stack that I thought I had lost.
DeleteI organize my closet pretty meticulously- shirts hang left to right by weight of fabric, season, length of sleeves, and dressy/not dressy. Then after the shirts hang my pants, then skirts, then cardigans, then blazers, followed by heavier jackets. Sweaters are stacked by weight, then color.
ReplyDeleteI really hate when anyone else does laundry or puts it away, haha.
Unfortunately my closets more often than not a mess, I just don't have the space...sigh. But I do have that sideboard that is in your picture, I only posted about it yesterday infact!
ReplyDeleteWait. You're moving?
ReplyDeleteI wish you all luck and love :)
No, I'm not moving - my man is moving in :)
Deletevery exciting Viv - goodluck with the changes, do you have to make your pretty home more 'masculine' haha...my hubby is always saying thats so girly and Im like 'and??'
ReplyDeleteso great to see you happy'
How exciting !! Enjoy this process. I have colour coordinated my wardrobe for years as well as my two daughters and it makes life so much easier. I begin with white on the right all the way to black on the left. I hang from singlet tops, cap sleeves, to long sleeves and it is so quick and easy if i know what i'm looking for. My girls haven't known anything different. Try it and you will be surprised how quick it actually can be.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely news. Congratulations. I'm sure you'll make it an even lovelier home together. x
