Image: FromentalPhew! One project completed but still lots of others to work on. The research I am doing for another project has let me to chinoiserie wallpaper which I have always loved for the delicate and elegant designs. It is probably the reason I was attracted to the Sanderson wallpaper I framed for the bedroom.

While on the topic of wallpaper, I am waiting on a copy of this book to arrive in the mail. I haven't seen it in person but I'm hoping it is filled with large images and eye-candy designs. Have you read this book or flipped through it?

I haven't seen the book, but I imagine it will be beauty filled! I really love the second image, the colours are stunning.

Wow! That kitchen is gorgeous! I love every element of it - the stairs, the pendant lamp, and of course, that AMAZING wallpaper. It is being bookmarked!
ReplyDeleteI have the book and it's great: The images are large, and there are histories of the big wallpaper companies and thumbnail images of all the large ones in the end of the book.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that book, but the wallpaper over the floating stairs in that kitchen is GORGEOUS. Love.

I love this wallpaper Viv, and I've used it as inspiration for some of my Chinoiserie-style paintings. It looks so lovely in any setting, I just can't get enough! K xx

ReplyDeleteLove the wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteHi Viv, where do you source the frames that you use in your home? I struggle to find really good ones that don't cost the earth. Just discovered your blog, and feeling inspired already! Especially to paint again, I think I will use your idea of seeking inspiration from wallpapers and fabrics to paint a design on canvas.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I love the Fromental wallpapers, I have featured them on my blog before too. I just looked at your post with the Finches wallpaper in the frames and love it. I am doing something like that in my downstairs loo at the moment but am definitely going to use frames like that in one room. Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, I love Chinoiserie wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteThese images have been so helpful to me in finding the perfect wall paper for my baby room. I was so stuck and then I came across your site and discovered the world of chinoiserie! Thank you so much!
