I like the idea of using paint in hidden places - inside a drawer or cupboard or, as seen recently at Apartment Therapy, even the edge of a door. I am tempted to paint the edges of the doors in my home in pink or blue just for fun.
What do you think? Would it only work if the doors are painted in a colour too and not just white like most of mine are?

Personally I think it would look even more effective on a white door, especially if the surrounding walls are white also. It would be a surprise shock of colour
ReplyDeleteNot at all..I think it would work with a white door...is like a little pop of colour which is always nice to see...I think so long as the colour compliments the room it is in ..then thats all you have to worry about.
ReplyDeleteGo for it honey...what a fun project! :) x
Blue and pink would totally work with white doors, as would red and yellow. If it would make you happier as you wander around your home, go for it. ♥
ReplyDeleteno way - I definitely think white doors w/blue edges would be amazing! great idea!
ReplyDeleteI think that it will be a wonderful touch and will work regardless of the door being painted or not. I'd like the surprise of seeing a different color there too.
ReplyDeletemy landlord would be happy but I would be over the moon!
ReplyDeleteI think it would pop even more against an all white door. Case in point: Your Inspiration: Bright pink and white post
ReplyDeleteI have a little extra pink paint and might have to attack a door this very afternoon. :)
I love the way the painted edge incorporates just that subtle pop of color. Especially how it matches that art to the right.
ReplyDeleteI just love the hidden pop of colour.
ReplyDeleteWith white doors, I wonder if brights or something more subtle would work?
If you end up painting your doors, be sure to post photos :)
I love this idea - I'd never seen/thought of it before. I'm so doing it at some point!
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of fun (of course I think the green door above is amazing!!). but the unexpected red on the edge...very cool! i say go for it :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is a cute idea. As for the white, may it depends of the style of your space. Maybe i would like to see this in a somehow minimal place. Maybe not. OK. I really don't know.I like this small surprise.
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple idea and so lovely! I plan to do this in the future! (Rental apartment has these nice wooden doors). Also I think it would work with both white doors & those that are painted. I think just about any color would do (teal, pink) depending on what decorative elements are also in the room & could contrast nicely to pop.
ReplyDeleteIt would look really great with your white doors as it would add a little surprise element! So much fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would look so effective. I also think, in certain rooms, painting the entire back of the door (and the sides) would be a nice effect. Would be fun in a rumpus or child's room. What a great idea.
ReplyDelete0o0o0o I like this a lot! The challenge for me would be choosing what accent colours to use... Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletewow, THAT is a great idea! i wish to try that at home but i guess our new home is not made for that (well, my man probably would protest..)
ReplyDeletehave a sweet day :)
