A good friend of mine helped me take better photos of my home over the weekend. I am so grateful for his time. Check out the photos of the living and dining area below.

The dining area
The Black Apple and Rosie Music prints hang above the dining. I think the girls look right at home here. Our living/dining area is teeny tiny. The previous owners used the entire space for their L-shaped lounge and TV unit. They also had a small square dining table that could only seat two people.
When we moved in we brought with us a three seater and two seater lounge, a coffee table, TV unit, side tables and an 8 seat dining table to fit into the same space. I was panicked it wouldn't fit but it does - just. To give us extra space we removed a huge built in cabinet on the far wall.
Here's the before shot:
I know we're crazy for removing built in storage but the space it has given us has gone to good use. Plus, the cabinets were a bit of an eye-sore.
It all fits quite nicely now. So there you have it, a little more of my home I wanted to share with you.If you would like to see more photos of my home, check out the Flickr album I've put together here.

ReplyDeletethese photos look great. Yeah, it would have killed me to remove a wall of built ins but the space you have created is so light and happy - such a wonderful feel.
ReplyDeleteIt looks incredible! So fresh. Love the pillows may I ask where they are from?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home you have! It's so light and airy, very calming. You have beautiful taste. I wish I could use light colors like that in my home, but my 2 kids (2 and 3 1/2) would ruin any chair/couch that is light in color in 5 seconds. haha. Maby when they are older...
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful! I absolutely love that coffee table!!

ReplyDeleteHi Viv,
ReplyDeleteYour house is stunning, it looks so cozy. Just wondering where you got that beautiful rug?
Kobe - Thank you. The rug was from Decorug: www.decorug.com.au
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful to stumble over your blog during my research for my own renovations. I have been looking at it ALOT! I would love your opinion on your glass topped coffee table. I am in the market for a new coffee table, and I adore yours with the dark wood (where is it from???) but I have a 14month old who loves bashing things on tables! How does it stand up to your son? Would you recommend glass tops? Thanks Viv.
ReplyDeleteBrookexoxo - My table has a glass top and it has survived so far although I have since moved it to the corner of the room to give him more floor space to play. The glass has scratched a little but it doesn't bother me. I'm just glad the wood isn't dented. I can always replace the glass.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your dining room chairs!! Where are they from? Mind stopping by and letting me know in case I can't find my way back to this post?
ReplyDeleteYour home is just lovely! :)
I love your living / dining space, well your whole house actually! I too have a very small area to work with. Are you able to tell me the dimensions of the area?
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the albsolutely gorgeous red and white wallpaper, the one wall where you have a red settee placed in front of the wallpaper. Can you tell us where this wallpaper is from?
ReplyDeleteLovely Little Nest - I'll drop by your blog but in case anyone else has the same question I had the dining chairs custom made.
ReplyDeleteAnon - I'll need to get out the tape measure! I've no idea of the dimensions.
MM - The wallpaper is by Catherine Marting for Porter's Paints.
This is a perfect arrangement for those who don't have big space in their house like me. Now I know what to do to make my house look good and fashionable. I just wish I can find that furniture’s here in our place.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and lovely home! Could you please tell me where the wavy glass bowl on your coffee table is from? I have been looking for something like this for aaages and haven't had any luck.
Thanks in advance,
Alex
I'm DYING to know where you got your couch set.... please respond! xx
