I have been busy turning this 50+ year old cottage style house into a home for my family. Purchased in 2004 sight unseen (crazy!), the house has gone through a number of changes over the years. Here's what I've been getting up to.

Your home is delightful! I really love your master bedroom...it looks so cozy. I'm seriously considering using more white in my home to lighten it up. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! The changes you've made are fantastic. Really beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteHi Viv,
ReplyDeleteCan you please please please add some photos of the outside of your lovely home?
I've been following (stalking?) your house and blog ever since I saw the article in Real Living and love your style! Hubby and I are looking at buying a similar weatherboard/ fibro place in the next few months (actually, close by in the Peakhurst area.. don't worry, I'm only cyber stalking you!! haha.), and most of the ones in our price range will need a major inside and outside reno. I've drooled many times over the inside of your place, but would love to get some ideas from your exterior too.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Jess
Hehe.. I'll see if I can muster up the courage Jess. I am a bit nervous about posting photos of the outside.
ReplyDeleteThe house is weatherboard with the bottom half being brick (there is a garage underneath). We painted both the brick and weatherboard in Dulux Self Destruct and painted the window trims, garage door and gutters in white. It is such an improvement to the previous white weatherboard with red brick and red/brown garage door and gutters... the standard that you see everywhere. Nice to hear you will be in the area! :)
Just found your blog and i love it , i love your house as much as I enjoy your fashion section, will keep following you around !!!
ReplyDeletehugs, eva
Hi Viv,
ReplyDeleteThankyou for all the wonderful pictures and info on how you renovated your house - it looks absolutely lovely.
I am wondering whether you used the half-strength china white on the the window frames, doors, architraves etc, or whether you used a different colour? I am about to start renovating an old house in rural victoria and I think that the colours you have chosen would be perfect to lighten it up and add warmth.
Thanks xxx
Hi! I used Antique White on the trims. It is a touch lighter than China White.
Deletewere did you get the coffe table. i love it. i want one too. :)
ReplyDeletejesslope - Thank you, I'm afraid I can't help with sourcing one. The table is custom made.
